Repaint unpainted dresser – Front with new colours

For this project we have used a dresser from IKEA PS 2012. Ikea offers lots of furniture in untreated wood or light pine, such as the IVAR storage system, which are easy to personalize and make unique for your home. Start by lightly sanding the wood with a sandpaper or sanding block to get a good surface for the paint to adhere to. Remember to sand in the direction of the grain of the wood. Then wipe off all sanding dust with a microfiber cloth.

Since the insides of the boxes will remain unpainted, they therefore need to be protected with masking tape.

Tip!

Unscrew the knobs on the dresser and hold them by the screw. Then it is easy to paint the entire bud around.

Prime

Then it’s time to start painting your dresser! Prime first so that the paint adheres better and lasts longer. For the detail work, such as edges and knobs, the Platinum angled flat brush is used. The slightly larger surfaces are painted with a mini roller to get paint on faster.

Paint

Then paint two layers of your choosen colour in the same way as before. Use a brush for details and corners, and a mini roller for larger surfaces. Between layers, it can be good to lightly sand with a sanding block to remove any dust.
