Two-part wall
Create a two-part wall by, for example, painting a darker color at the bottom and a lighter one at the top. Use indoor masking tape to divide the wall. It provides razor-sharp edges and can remain on the wall for a long time if you need to take a break from work. Paint with a Micmex roller – it provides good coverage and picks up a lot of paint so you can work faster.
Follow our guide Paint walls – how to, step by step to paint walls with the best result.
If you want to take it a step further to get an exciting effect, you can ignore the tape and paint the transition between the colors with a roller for rough surfaces, for example our Wistex-roller, so that the edge becomes irregular or blurry.

Use your moldings
When the walls are to be painted, we often leave skirting boards and door frames white. Think differently and paint them in the same colour as the wall. It gives a calm and harmonious feeling to the room. Use masking tape to protect the paint or wallpaper on the wall when you paint skirting boards and door frames.
Here you can read more about how to paint skirting boards and door frames with perfect results: Paint a trim – how to, step by step.
You can also let the door frames take on even more, by painting it in a different colour and letting the colour continue a bit onto the wall. Mark with masking tape for sensitive surfaces to create an effective frame around the door.

Don't hold the line
Sometimes it may be time to stretch the boundaries between ceiling and wall. If you intend to paint the ceiling in a color other than white, you get a nice and different style by continuing with the ceiling color a few centimeters down the wall. Use masking tape for sensitive surfaces to mark how far down the ceiling color should go, and to get a razor-sharp transition between the colors.
