Paint kitchen cabinets – how to, step by step
Do you need to refresh your kitchen cabinets? A few brushstrokes change the look of the entire kitchen. Here’s how to paint the kitchen cabinets in a smart way, with the best possible results.

Prep work
Unscrew fittings
The first step is to unscrew the fittings and handles from the kitchen cabinets so that you can work with them freely.
Wash
Next, it’s time to clean the kitchen cabinets from dirt and grease. Use a microfibre cloth together with a suitable cleaning detergent and clean the cabinets thoroughly. The paint adheres best to a clean surface.
Sanding
After you have cleaned the kitchen doors, it is time to sand the surface matt. The paint adheres better if the surface is roughened instead of completely smooth. Use a dry microfiber cloth to wipe away the sanding dust.

Prime
Prime the cabinets. If the cabinets are smooth, we recommend using a mini roller. For kitchen cabinets with frames, it can be good to combine both brush and roller.
Let the paint dry.

Paint with your chosen colour
Now it’s time to use your chosen color and start covering the kitchen cabinets.
As with the primer, it is best to use a mini roller for the larger surfaces. But for edges, details and more difficult-to-reach surfaces, we recommend using a brush. Paint two layers and let the paint dry in between.
Anza's Platinum brush series provides a really nice surface. The brushes pick up a lot of color and have extra fine bristles at the top to give a really nice finish.
