Wash the terrace
Start by rinsing the entire terrace with water. The easiest way is to use a water hose or a pressure washer. Pressure washing is effective for removing dirt, but be careful not to hold the nozzle too close to the wood as it will damage the surface of the wood if the pressure is too high.
Then spread terrace detergent on the patio and thoroughly scrub away old oil and dirt that has accumulated from the previous season. Follow the instructions on the bottle. If your terrace is very dirty or has mould or algae, you may want to use an algae and mould cleaner to get it all off and make your terrace surface really clean.
When scrubbing your terrace, we highly recommend our own terrace scrubbing brush, which is perfect as it has efficient and durable bristles. Always scrub in the direction of the wood.
Last but not least, rinse the entire terrace with water to get rid of the patio cleaner and let the wood dry thoroughly before doing the next step.
